Please locate your superfluous gold jewelry. We accept gold of any karat type, 10K, 14K, 18K, or other, in any form or condition, such as rings, necklaces, brooches, pins, findings, fillings, coins, or decorative objects. We do not accept silver or costume jewelry.
Complete and submit the donation form and designate your favorite nonprofit as the beneficiary of your gift’s monetary award.
Place the items in a ziplock bag and securely wrap them with plastic or paper to avoid shaking/breakage. Place it into a sturdy envelope and securely seal it.
Ship to our secure PO Box: EG Institute, P.O. Box 7715, Berkeley, CA 94707. We recommend insuring the goods for their replacement value. The shipping date will be your donation date.
Our Process
We securely receive your gift and notify you of its arrival.
Carefully open the package, examine, weigh, and classify.
Email you a donation receipt, eligible for a tax deduction.
Assay and determine the precise gold content.
Separate items into two categories:
A. Salable products, marketed and sold on our e-store
B. Scrap, consolidated and sold to responsible jewelersWithin 60 days, we remit 80% of the sale value to your designated charity as a no-strings-attached award. The remainder partially covers our operating costs.
Post award and beneficiary nonprofits for public view.
